Overview

Completed by New Edge Concrete in 2025 at Diablo Country Club in Danville, this project replaced the failing concrete retaining wall along the rear of a beautiful estate — a wall sitting directly adjacent to Diablo Valley Road. Because the road had to remain open throughout construction, we carefully demolished the old wall inward toward the property, completing the work without disrupting traffic. The rebuild called for roughly 30 drilled piers and a new 16-foot-tall reinforced concrete retaining wall constructed in carefully planned sections, with 5 to 6 tons of reinforcing steel placed and about 150 yards of concrete poured. Complex structural work in a challenging environment — executed with safety, precision, and minimal impact on the surrounding community.

Scope of work

  • Inward demolition — road open throughout
  • ≈30 drilled piers
  • 16-ft reinforced concrete wall in planned sections
  • Rebar cages & complex formwork
  • ≈150 yd³ of concrete placed
